A 1960s cliff-edge classic that has aged extremely well, buried in umbrella pines between S'Agaro and Platja d'Aro. Two pools sit on terraces above the sea, and a private path drops through the trees to a small sheltered cove that is yours alone before nine in the morning. There is no kids club and not much organised entertainment, but the setting does a lot of the work: this is the Costa Brava people fall in love with.

Our verdict

For families who want beauty and calm rather than slides and a club. Best with children who can walk down steps on their own, so roughly four and up.

🛏️

The rooms

Terraced rooms stepping down a pine-covered cliff, nearly all with a balcony and a sea view worth the money. Family rooms sleep four with a sofa bed, and there are a handful of two-bedroom suites at the top of the range. Cots are free, and every room has a fridge, which matters when you are carrying milk up from the village.

How the KidProof Score works

Every hotel is rated on eight things families actually care about, then weighted by how much each one drives your choice. Room setup counts the most. The little touches break the ties.

Clean travel cot, high chair, bottle warmer, changing table, kit to borrow.

Pool & play84

Shallow pool or paddling area, playground, kids club (free or paid).

Family dining82

Quick breakfast, kids menus, allergy options, snacks on hand.

Safety76

Secured windows, protected corners, watched pool, well kept grounds.

Stay logistics72

Laundry, in-room fridge, stroller access, parking, reliable Wi-Fi.

Location92

Close to family attractions, easy transport, park tickets or access.

Little touches78

Welcome gift for the child, staff who talk to kids, themed rooms.

Why families love it

  • Private path down to a sheltered cove
  • Two clifftop pools with full sea views
  • Pine woods and terraces, shade everywhere
  • Ten minutes by car from Platja d'Aro's long beach

🗓️A day here with kids

  1. 8:00

    Cove swim before breakfast

Flat water, nobody there, worth the early alarm.

  2. 9:30

    Breakfast on the sea terrace

Ask for a table on the lower level, less wind.

  3. 12:00

    Upper pool and shade

The pines cover the loungers at the back from midday.

  4. 17:00

    Coastal path to Sa Conca

Wide sand for a proper run around, then walk back for dinner.

Family things to do nearby

🥽

First snorkel in the cove

Waist-deep water over rock and seagrass, with wrasse and bream close to shore. The best beginner snorkel on this stretch of coast.

Time: MorningFor 🧑 🧑‍🎤
🥾

Cami de ronda to Sa Conca

The coastal path passes right below the hotel and reaches the wide sands of Sa Conca in about fifteen minutes, past the S'Agaro villas.

Time: Late afternoonFor 🧑 🧑‍🎤
🎢

Aquadiver water park

Platja d'Aro's water park is ten minutes away and covers the slide craving this hotel deliberately does not.

Is it right for your kids?

👶Great fit

Baby

0 to 1 yr

Free cots, fridges and a very calm atmosphere, but the terraced site means steps everywhere and the cove is out of reach with a pram.

🧒Great fit

Toddler

1 to 3 yrs

Pools are the realistic option at this age. Neither pool has a proper shallow section, so armbands and a hand at all times.

🧑Great fit

Kid

4 to 11 yrs

This is where it clicks. Snorkelling, rock pools, the coastal path and steps to run down every morning.

🧑‍🎤Great fit

Teen

12 yrs and up

Kayaks, paddleboards and the freedom to walk the cami de ronda alone. Platja d'Aro's shops are a bus ride away.

Parents also ask

How many steps down to the cove?

Well over a hundred, in several flights through the pines. Fine for school-age children, hard work carrying a toddler and a cool bag.

Is there anything organised for children?

No kids club and only light seasonal entertainment. Come here for the cove, the pines and the pools, and plan a couple of outings yourself.

Do we need a car?

It makes life much easier. There is a bus along the coast road to Platja d'Aro and Sant Feliu, but with young children and beach kit a car wins.
