How we choose and score hotels
The KidProof method, in plain language.
We are parents first. We built this site because booking a family hotel meant reading between the lines of reviews written by couples on a romantic break. Here is exactly how we judge a hotel.
How the KidProof Score works
Every hotel is rated on eight things families actually care about, then weighted by how much each one drives your choice. Room setup counts the most. The little touches break the ties.

We start with the room
It is the number one question and the worst answered. How many does it sleep? Are there connecting rooms or family suites with a separate sleeping area? Is the extra bed real or a sofa? We put the answer at the top of every hotel page.
We score eight things, weighted
Room setup, baby gear, pool and play, dining, safety, stay logistics, location and the little touches. Each is rated out of 100, then weighted by how much it drives a family's choice. The result is the KidProof Score.
We are honest about the trade-offs
Every hotel page has a short list of things worth knowing before you book, from a paid kids club to a pool that is deep at one end. No hotel is perfect and pretending otherwise helps nobody.
How we make money
When you book through our links we may earn a commission from the booking site, at no extra cost to you. It never changes our scores or which hotels we feature.
