Agadir is Morocco's easiest family beach city and one of Europe's best-value winter-sun escapes. A 10 km crescent of flat golden sand curves along the bay, gently shelving and lifeguarded, so toddlers can paddle at the edge while everyone soaks up mild sun that lasts all year. Rebuilt as a modern resort city after the 1960 earthquake, it has wide flat promenades that are a dream with a buggy, big all-inclusive resorts with water parks and free kids clubs, and just a three to three and a half hour flight from much of Europe. Add camel rides on the sand, the buzzing Souk El Had and day trips to Paradise Valley, and you have a warm, cheap and genuinely easy family week.

When is the best time to visit Agadir with kids?
Agadir works all year thanks to its mild climate. Winter is the star for reliable sun when Europe is cold, with days around 20 to 22C, while spring and autumn are warm and pleasant without peak crowds.
Can children swim in the sea in winter?
The Atlantic is cooler in winter, so most families use heated hotel pools for swimming and keep the beach for walks, sandcastles and camel rides. Choose a resort with a heated pool if winter swimming matters to you.
Is Agadir easy and safe for young families?
Yes. It is a modern, rebuilt city with wide flat promenades that are easy with a buggy, a lifeguarded beach that shelves gently, and a very family-friendly, welcoming feel. The currency is the dirham and prices are low.
Do we need a hire car?
Not if you stay in the beachfront strip, where the promenade, beach and shops are all walkable. A car helps for day trips like Paradise Valley or the Souss-Massa park, and is useful if you base yourself in Taghazout Bay to the north.
