Club Med Punta Cana is the answer for families whose youngest is still in nappies. Baby Club Med takes children from four months, Petit Club from two, Mini Club from four and Passworld covers eleven to seventeen, which is a wider age ladder than any other resort on this coast. Add Creactive by Cirque du Soleil, where a whole family can try the flying trapeze and bungee together, and you have a holiday that is genuinely shared rather than parallel. The trade-off is honest: the standard rooms feel their age, there is no big water park, and Baby and Petit Club carry an extra fee that surprises people at booking.

Our verdict

If your youngest is under three, book this and stop comparing. For families with children over seven who want slides, Bavaro gives you more water for less money.

🛏️

The rooms

Two worlds in one resort. The standard rooms are functional and starting to date, while the Tiara and Family Oasis sections are newer, roomier and worth the jump if there are four of you. Interconnecting family rooms are the standard family answer here, and cots are free in all categories.

How the KidProof Score works

Every hotel is rated on eight things families actually care about, then weighted by how much each one drives your choice. Room setup counts the most. The little touches break the ties.

Room setup74

Sleeps how many? Connecting rooms, family suites, a real extra bed?

Baby gear93

Clean travel cot, high chair, bottle warmer, changing table, kit to borrow.

Pool & play76

Shallow pool or paddling area, playground, kids club (free or paid).

Family dining82

Quick breakfast, kids menus, allergy options, snacks on hand.

Safety92

Secured windows, protected corners, watched pool, well kept grounds.

Stay logistics86

Laundry, in-room fridge, stroller access, parking, reliable Wi-Fi.

Location84

Close to family attractions, easy transport, park tickets or access.

Little touches91

Welcome gift for the child, staff who talk to kids, themed rooms.

Why families love it

  • Childcare from four months old, rare anywhere in the Caribbean

🗓️A day here with kids

  1. 8:30

    Breakfast, then club drop-off

Clubs open at nine. Getting there at five past nine costs you twenty minutes of queue.

  2. 9:30

Trapeze or tennis for the adults

Everything is included, so try the thing you would never pay for elsewhere.

  3. 12:30

Family lunch at the beach restaurant

Quieter and shadier than the main buffet, and the grill is better.

  4. 14:30

Nap hour or Passworld for the teenagers

The teen club runs its own afternoon programme, which means you genuinely get two hours back.

  5. 17:00

    Kayaks on the flat bay

Late afternoon is when the water goes glassy and the wind drops. Free, no booking.

  6. 19:00

    Early dinner, then the show

Families eat first here, which is exactly the right way round.

🤸

Family trapeze session

Creactive runs beginner slots where a parent and a child can be harnessed up in the same hour. Book it on day one, it is the memory everyone keeps.

First sailing lesson

The bay is flat and shallow, and the small dinghies are the gentlest possible introduction. Lessons are included and run every morning.

Evening show with the kids

Is it right for your kids?

👶Great fit

Baby

0 to 1 yr

The strongest baby offer in Punta Cana: Baby Club from four months, bottle kitchens, nappies and a pram loan service. Budget for the club supplement.

🧒Great fit

Toddler

1 to 3 yrs

Petit Club from two years old runs a full day with naps built in, which almost no other resort here manages.

🧑Great fit

Kid

4 to 11 yrs

Mini Club is included and the trapeze, sailing and tennis give this age a real week rather than a week by the pool.

🧑‍🎤Great fit

Teen

12 yrs and up

Passworld is one of the few teen clubs that gets used past day two, because the sports are good and the group forms fast.

Parents also ask

Is the baby club included in the price?

No. Mini Club (4 to 10) and Passworld (11 to 17) are included, but Baby Club Med (4 to 23 months) and Petit Club Med (2 to 3) carry a supplement and must be reserved in advance.

Are the rooms really dated?

The standard categories are functional rather than smart, and that is the most common complaint. The Family Oasis and Tiara sections are newer and considerably better if the budget allows.

Is there a water park?

No. There are pools and a small splash area but nothing on the scale of Barcelo or Hard Rock. If slides are the point of the holiday, look at Bavaro instead.

Do we need to speak French?

No. The clientele in Punta Cana is largely North American and the staff work in English, French and Spanish. French-speaking children are always looked after in their own language.
