This is the hotel you book when the children have voted for slides and nothing else. The water park is the whole point: several towers of slides, a lazy river, a shallow splash area for the little ones and four pools around it, all included in the rate. The catch is honest and worth knowing before you book: there is no beach on site. The sand belongs to the sister hotel Steigenberger Al Dau Beach, about 550 metres away across the seafront promenade, and a free shuttle loops there through the day.

Unbeatable value if your children are five and over and the holiday is about slides. Families who want sea and sand first should book the sister hotel on the beach instead.
The rooms
Plain, roomy doubles in low blocks arranged around the slide park, nearly all with a balcony or terrace. The family option is two connecting doubles rather than a true suite, so ask for connecting rooms at booking and confirm it again on arrival. Cots are free but must be requested in advance.

The animation team runs the same routine every evening, which sounds tiring and is in fact exactly what small children want.

Workable but not ideal: cots are free, there is a splash pool with shade, but the nearest sand means a shuttle ride with the pram.
Toddler
1 to 3 yrs
The shallow splash area with the tipping bucket is the whole holiday at this age, and it is fenced off from the big slides.
Kid
4 to 11 yrs
This is the age the hotel is built for. Most slides have a 1.20 m height rule, so measure before you promise anything.
Teen
12 yrs and up
The big drop slides and the volleyball court hold them for a few days, after that they will want the beach shuttle or a boat trip.

Does the hotel have its own beach?
No. The beach is at the sister hotel Steigenberger Al Dau Beach, around 550 metres away on the other side of the seafront promenade, with a free shuttle running through the day and free sunbeds and umbrellas once you are there.
Are the slides included in the price?
Yes, the whole water park is included for hotel guests. Rubber rings are lent free at the towers, but they run out at peak times, so send one adult ahead.
Can we get a real family suite?
Not really. The family option is two connecting doubles, which works well for four but is not a lounge-plus-bedroom suite. Confirm the connecting door in writing before you travel.
