€€€€from 170€ / night

Six seawater pools, three slides into a children's section, a playground, mini golf and a kids club from 10am to 6pm: Roda Beach is built for the week when your children want to be in water from breakfast to dinner. It sits on one of Corfu's longest sandy beaches, up at the quiet northern tip, and the price is a fraction of the island's headline resorts. The trade is honest: the food is fine rather than memorable and the estate shows its age in patches.

Our verdict

The best water-per-euro on the island for primary school children. Come for the pools, the slides and the beach, not for the cooking, and pay a little extra for a refurbished room near the centre of the site.

πŸ›οΈ

The rooms

A big estate of low buildings and bungalows spread across gardens at the island's northern tip. Family rooms and bungalows sleep four comfortably; some are a genuine walk from the main pool and restaurant, so ask for something central if you have a toddler who naps. Standard rooms are functional rather than smart, and the newer refurbished blocks are noticeably better.

πŸ—“οΈA day here with kids

  1. 8:30

    Buffet breakfast

Busy from 9. Get in early and claim your loungers straight after.

  2. 10:00

    Slides open

First hour is the calmest. Club drop off is at the same time if you want both.

  3. 13:00

    Snack point lunch

Faster and better tempered than the main buffet at peak.

  4. 16:00

    Down to the beach

The sea flattens out and the sand empties as the pool crowd stays put.

  5. 20:30

    Evening show

Cheerful, loud, over by bedtime. Sit near the back if you plan an early exit.

The three slides

Built into the children's section of the main pool, so you can watch from a lounger rather than queue alongside them.

Mini golf

Free and shaded in parts. The one activity that reliably works when a teenager refuses everything else.

Roda beach walk

The sand runs for kilometres. Walk east into the village for an ice cream and a change of scene from the resort.

Is it right for your kids?

πŸ‘ΆWorks with a plan

Baby

0 to 1 yr

Workable but not a strength: cots are available, the beach is easy, but the walking distances across the estate are real with a pram.

πŸ§’Great fit

Toddler

1 to 3 yrs

The shallow beach entry and children's pool section are ideal. Keep them away from the slide run-out, which gets fast at peak.

πŸ§‘Great fit

Kid

4 to 11 yrs

Exactly who this resort is for. Six pools, three slides, playgrounds, mini golf and a free club with long hours.

πŸ§‘β€πŸŽ€Great fit

Teen

12 yrs and up

Fine for a week if they like a pool and mini golf, but Roda is quiet and there is little to walk to. Older teens may find it thin.

Parents also ask

Is the beach good for small children?

Yes. Roda has one of the longest sandy beaches on the island with a gentle slope and calm water, which is why the north coast is the standard recommendation for toddlers.

How honest are the mixed reviews?

Fair. Guests consistently praise the pools, beach and staff, and consistently split on food and room condition. Your experience depends heavily on which block you land in.

Do we need a car staying here?

Not for the resort, but yes if you want the island. Corfu Town is roughly 40 minutes and Sidari about 20, on roads that wind more than the map suggests.

Is there a big flume slide?

No. Three slides feed the children's pool section, but the oversized slide that appears in older photos has been removed. Aqualand is 40 minutes away for the big rides.
