Lapita exists for one reason and it is a good one: it is the hotel inside Dubai Parks and Resorts, so Legoland, the Legoland Water Park and Motiongate are on your doorstep instead of an hour down the motorway. The theming is Polynesian, all timber, water and greenery, and after the glass and marble of central Dubai it feels like a holiday rather than a city break. There is a lazy river, a splash area, a kids club and enough lawn for children to be children. Food choice on site is decent but not enormous, and there is no beach, so this is a park trip rather than a beach trip. For families with Lego-aged children it is the most sensible base in the emirate.

Our verdict

The obvious choice for a theme-park half of your trip. Combine three or four nights here with a few beach nights in town and you have covered everything.

🛏️

The rooms

Polynesian-themed rooms and family rooms in low buildings around lagoon pools, with configurations that sleep four comfortably and villas for bigger groups. Everything is on a human scale, so getting from room to pool does not involve a lift and three corridors.

How the KidProof Score works

Every hotel is rated on eight things families actually care about, then weighted by how much each one drives your choice. Room setup counts the most. The little touches break the ties.

Room setup84

Sleeps how many? Connecting rooms, family suites, a real extra bed?

Baby gear83

Clean travel cot, high chair, bottle warmer, changing table, kit to borrow.

Pool & play87

Shallow pool or paddling area, playground, kids club (free or paid).

Family dining80

Quick breakfast, kids menus, allergy options, snacks on hand.

Safety90

Secured windows, protected corners, watched pool, well kept grounds.

Stay logistics72

Laundry, in-room fridge, stroller access, parking, reliable Wi-Fi.

Location70

Close to family attractions, easy transport, park tickets or access.

Little touches94

Welcome gift for the child, staff who talk to kids, themed rooms.

Why families love it

  • Inside Dubai Parks and Resorts, walking distance to Legoland
  • Lagoon pools, a lazy river and a splash area
  • Kids club and low-rise, walkable layout
  • Themed rooms that children find genuinely exciting

🗓️A day here with kids

  1. 8:30

    Breakfast then park gates

Being on site means you are through the gates before the coaches arrive.

  2. 12:30

    Back to the hotel

Lunch, air conditioning and a nap, then out again. This is the whole strategy.

  3. 15:30

    Lazy river and splash pad

Cheaper and calmer than a second park ticket for the day.

  4. 18:30

    Riverland for dinner

The free-entry dining street next to the parks gives you more choice than the hotel alone.

🧱

Legoland Dubai

Aimed squarely at 2 to 12 year olds, with a driving school, gentle rides and a Miniland of the region built in bricks.

The bigger-thrill park, built around film studios, with coasters that suit older children and teenagers.

Lazy river afternoon

The hotel's own water circuit is the recovery plan between park days, and it costs nothing extra.

Is it right for your kids?

👶Great fit

Baby

0 to 1 yr

Cots, quiet low-rise rooms and short distances work well, though there is little for a baby in the parks themselves.

🧒Great fit

Toddler

1 to 3 yrs

Legoland's under-fives area and the hotel splash zone are the right scale. Bring the pushchair, park days are long.

🧑Great fit

Kid

4 to 11 yrs

The perfect age for this base: Legoland by day, lazy river by afternoon, and no long transfers.

🧑‍🎤Great fit

Teen

12 yrs and up

Motiongate has the rides teenagers want, but they may find the hotel itself quiet in the evenings.

Parents also ask

Are park tickets included with the room?

Not automatically, but combined room and ticket packages are commonly offered and usually work out cheaper than buying separately. Compare both at booking.

Can you walk to the parks?

Yes, the hotel sits within the resort complex and the walk to the park entrances is short, with a shuttle available when the heat makes walking unwise.

Is it a good base for the rest of Dubai?

Not really. Downtown and the beaches are 35 to 45 minutes away, so most families split the trip: a few nights here for the parks, the rest in town.

How many days do the parks need?

Two full days covers Legoland and one other park comfortably with young children. Three if you want the water park as well and a slow pace.
