The wave-shaped hotel next door to the Burj Al Arab has been Dubai's family classic for decades, and it still works for one very concrete reason: Wild Wadi Waterpark is across the road and access is included for guests. Add a long private beach, a run of pools including shallow ones, and Sinbad's Kids Club, and you have a week sorted without ever calling a taxi. The building shows its age in places next to the newest Palm resorts, but the service and the family logistics are more practised here than almost anywhere in the city. The view of the Burj Al Arab from the sand is the photo your kids will want twice a day. It is expensive, though you are paying for a waterpark as well as a bed.

Our verdict

The most practical family five-star in Dubai: waterpark included, beach on site, and staff who have seen every toddler meltdown before yours. Go for a sea-view family room.

🛏️

The rooms

Rooms are large by city standards and almost all face the sea, with family formats and two-bedroom options that give children their own space. Interconnecting rooms are common and the layouts leave room for a cot without blocking the door.

👶Great fit

Baby

Cots, high chairs, shaded pool terraces and a calm shoreline, plus enough lifts and ramps to keep pushchair life simple.

The shallow pools and Wild Wadi's dedicated toddler zone make this one of the softest landings in Dubai for under-fours.

Parents also ask

Is Wild Wadi included for everyone in the room?

Access is normally included for hotel guests staying in the room, but the exact terms vary by rate and season, so confirm it at booking rather than on arrival.

Is the hotel dated?

The architecture is 1990s and some areas feel it, but rooms have been refreshed and the maintenance is good. You are buying position and family know-how, not the newest design.

Can we walk anywhere from the hotel?

Yes, Wild Wadi is across the road and Souk Madinat Jumeirah with its restaurants and canals is a short walk or a couple of minutes by taxi.
