Coraya Bay is a horseshoe of calm water a few minutes from Marsa Alam airport, and Jaz Samaya sits right on it with a wide sandy beach and a reef you reach along a pier. This is the gentle, unflashy end of the Red Sea: a TUI Kids Club, a real strip of sand for buckets and spades, and a bay sheltered enough that first-time snorkellers can float over the edge of the reef and come back thrilled. It is calmer and greener than Hurghada, and the short transfer means you are on the sand within an hour of landing.
Our verdict
A calm, sandy, easy-to-reach base for families who want the Red Sea without the Hurghada intensity. Best for toddlers and primary-age children who will paddle in the shallows and snorkel the reef off the pier under supervision.
The rooms
Bright, generous rooms in low two-storey blocks set in gardens, most with a balcony or terrace and plenty of floor space for a cot and a spread-out suitcase. Family rooms sleep two adults and two children comfortably, and connecting doubles are available if you ask at booking. Cots are free but limited in number, so request one the moment you reserve.

Parents also ask
Is the beach sandy enough for a toddler?
Yes for paddling and sandcastles: the shoreline in Coraya Bay is genuine sand and the water is calm. The catch is the seabed a little further out, which has seagrass and coral patches, so keep water shoes on and keep toddlers in the shallows near the sand rather than out towards the pier.
Can beginners snorkel the reef safely?
Yes. You walk out along the pier and enter the water at the reef edge, so nobody has to swim far from shore. Go in the morning when the water is clearest and the wind is down, take a float or noodle for a nervous child, and never let a child snorkel alone.
Similar family stays

in Marsa Alam
Jaz Maraya Resort
Modern, spacious family rooms designed for two adults and two children, most with a balcony and a bathtub, which is a real plus with little ones. The layout is genuinely built for families rather than retrofitted, and the newer feel shows in the finishes. Cots are free but should be requested at booking, and a handful of rooms connect if you need more space.

in Marsa Alam
Hilton Marsa Alam Nubian Resort
Large, Nubian-styled rooms in low terraced blocks stepping down towards the sea, most with a balcony or terrace and enough room for a cot without moving furniture. Family rooms and connecting options work for four, and the resort is big enough that it pays to ask for a room near the pools and the kids club rather than at the far end. Cots are free on request.

in Marsa Alam
Concorde Moreen Beach Resort and Spa
Spacious rooms in low buildings set in lush gardens, most with a balcony or terrace, and a genuine sense of green and space around them. Family rooms take two adults and two children, and connecting doubles help larger groups. There are two children's pools among the four, one heated in winter, so the little ones are well served close to the rooms. Cots are free on request.
