The Atrium is a handsome, pine-clad hotel on the hillside above Platanias and Agia Paraskevi, with a large sea-view pool as its centrepiece and some rooms that come with their own small private pool. It is calmer and more grown-up than a big family factory, but the kiddy pool, playground and games room keep children busy, and the shallow Agia Paraskevi sand is a short walk below.

Our verdict
The Atrium is a smart middle choice: quieter and more stylish than the big resorts, with a genuinely good pool, a kiddy pool and private-pool rooms that are a gift with small children, all above the calm Agia Paraskevi sand. Accept the slope and the steps and you get a relaxed, good-looking base at a fair price.
The rooms
Rooms step down a pine slope with sea views from most, and the family options include a Family Room with a private pool that sleeps four. Free cots are offered on request, and the private-pool categories are a real draw with young children: a safe, shallow splash just outside your door, well away from the busier main pool.

Parents also ask
Is there a pool just for children?
Yes, there is a separate kiddy pool alongside the large sea-view main pool, and some Family Rooms come with their own small private pool, which is ideal for safe, shallow splashing close to your room.
How far is the beach?
Agia Paraskevi beach is a short walk below the hotel, roughly a couple of minutes down the slope. It is a sheltered, shallow bay, so the walk back up is the only real effort, best tackled before the midday heat.
Is there a kids club?
No daytime kids club, but there is a playground and a games room with billiards and table tennis, and in-room childcare can be arranged for a surcharge if you want an evening out.
Are cots provided?
Free cots or infant beds are offered on request in many room types, so request one at the time of booking and confirm it with the hotel before you travel.

Elivi Skiathos
Elivi spreads across several low-rise buildings and villas in the pines above Koukounaries and Banana beaches, and the family categories are genuinely generous: two-bedroom suites and villas, some with a private pool and a patch of garden, give parents a door to close on a sleeping baby. Cots and bed rails come free on request, and the larger villas comfortably take a family of four or five without anyone tripping over the buggy.

Princess Resort Skiathos
Rooms run from comfortable doubles to Deluxe Family Rooms with two separate sleeping areas, which is exactly what you want when a baby's bedtime does not match a seven-year-old's. Cots are free on request and the family categories give you the space and storage a week with children actually needs, with many rooms looking out over the garden or the bay.

Kassandra Bay Resort, Suites & Spa
Accommodation ranges from smart double rooms to two-bedroom Family Apartments that sleep four, with a queen bed in one room and two twins in the other, so parents and children get their own space. Cots are free on request, and the apartment layouts make the difference between a cramped week and an easy one when you are travelling with two children.
