The Savoy sits on the liveliest beach on Mahe, the long golden sweep of Beau Vallon, with the island's biggest choice of restaurants and shops right outside. It is a practical family base rather than a hidden hideaway: an easy transfer from the airport, a huge pool and a supervised kids club. Because it is in a real village, you can walk out for an ice cream or a casual dinner, which many parents prefer to being locked inside one resort. It is one of the better-value five-star options on the island.
The rooms
The Savoy is a large, modern resort right on Beau Vallon beach, with Family Rooms and interconnecting rooms that suit four comfortably. Standard rooms take an extra bed or cot, provided free, and the flat, walkable grounds are simple with a pushchair. Being in the middle of Beau Vallon means shops, restaurants and a supermarket are a short stroll away, which is handy with a baby.
