Santa Fe is the most affordable of the on-site Disney hotels, themed around Cars with Lightning McQueen dotted through the grounds, which delights younger fans. It is a little further out than Cheyenne, about a twenty-minute walk or a free shuttle from the parks, and there is no pool. What it does offer is a genuine on-site stay with Extra Magic Time and larger family rooms for five or six at a price that keeps a Disney trip within reach.

The budget on-site pick: no pool and a longer walk, but real Extra Magic Time and roomy family rooms make it the cheapest way to keep the Disney magic and stay on the resort.

Rooms are themed around Disney Pixar's Cars, and family rooms with two bathrooms sleep five or six with a double bed, a trundle bed and a sofa bed. The bigger family rooms are one of the best-value ways to fit a larger family on-site, though the standard rooms are simple and compact.
