Bellaria Igea Marina is the relaxed, family-first town just north of Rimini, and the Ermitage sits right on its wide sandy beach, eight metres from the water with no road to cross. There is an 18 metre pool with a waterslide, a heated baby pool at 24 degrees, mini and junior clubs and a dedicated baby food kitchen, which makes it a strong all-round pick for mixed-age families.

Our verdict
One of the easiest choices on the whole Riviera for families with a baby plus older kids: truly on the beach, with a baby kitchen, a slide pool and clubs for the bigger ones.
The rooms
A cheerful, colour-themed four-star sitting right on the Igea Marina sand, with 64 rooms from standard doubles to roomy family suites for two adults and up to three children. A baby food kitchen, high chairs and flexible meal hours are all part of the deal.

Parents also ask
Is the hotel actually on the beach?
Yes, it sits directly on the Igea Marina sand about eight metres from the water, with no road to cross, which is unusual and ideal with toddlers.
Can they prepare baby food?
There is a dedicated baby food kitchen where you can prepare or warm meals, alongside high chairs, baby cutlery and flexible meal hours.
Is Bellaria too quiet for older kids?
It is calmer than Riccione but has a lively promenade, a small amusement area and easy trips to Aquafan and Rimini, so teens are well catered for too.
