Marina Viva is the classic Corsican family club: a wooded park right on a sandy beach in Porticcio, twenty minutes across the bay from Ajaccio. There is a proper mini-club for ages 4 to 11 and a teen club in summer, a big sea-view pool, tennis and beach volleyball, and evening entertainment that keeps children busy while parents get a moment. For families who want the old-school club formula (kids clubs, a sea-view pool, a sandy beach and something on every evening) Marina Viva delivers it in a lovely bit of Porticcio without the flagship price tag. Go in with realistic expectations on decor and the paid activity packages and it is a friendly, easy week.
The rooms
You choose between hotel-club rooms and self-catering apartments across the road, which is the real decision here. Family rooms run to about 28 square metres with two sleeping areas, four beds and two shower rooms, so a family of four or five is not stacked into one space. The residence side gives you a kitchen for baby bottles and fussy-eater breakfasts, cots are free on request, and everything sits in a shady pine and eucalyptus park a few minutes from the sand.
