Family skiing has one flaw, and it is always the same: the logistics. Booking ski school, hiring the gear, buying lift passes, working out who watches the little one while the older kids bomb down the slopes, sorting lunch on the mountain. Multiply that by a week and it ends up costing a fortune and feeling like a second job.

That is exactly what all-inclusive skiing takes away. At Club Med it all sits in one price: the children's ski lessons with the ESF, the free Mini Club for 4 to 10 year olds while you ski, every meal (wine included), and an indoor pool to thaw everyone out at the end of the day. You drop the bags, and the week runs itself.

On the kids side, it is the real thing. All six villages below run a Baby Club Med (from 4 months) and a Petit Club Med (2 to 3), at extra cost, plus the included Mini Club (4 to 10). Which means even with a baby in tow, you can actually ski, knowing exactly who has who.

Then it comes down to the resort. La Plagne, Les Arcs (Arcs Panorama, Peisey-Vallandry) and Tignes suit skiers after a big area. Alpe d'Huez and La Rosière bring more sun and gentler beginnings, ideal for a first time. Samoëns plays the village card. Most are ski-in, ski-out, which, with children and kit to carry, is no small thing.

The 2027 school-holiday weeks go very early, as ski weeks always do. Book a refundable rate, compare on the map. Our six villages are just below.
