Costa Meloneras is the grande dame of the strip: colonial arches, palm gardens and six outdoor pools spread across grounds so big you will clock your steps. For families it delivers a dedicated splash zone, a separate children's pool, a playground and a free mini club, while parents get a serious spa and a lighthouse promenade lined with restaurants right outside. It is calmer and better value than its glossier Lopesan neighbours, and the walk to Maspalomas beach is flat and short.

Our verdict
A calm, good-value base in the smartest part of the south, best for families who want space, gardens and a promenade over non-stop water park action.
The rooms
A colonial-style resort with rooms spread over huge grounds. Family rooms take four, and connecting doubles are worth asking for if you have older kids. The trade-off for all that garden is a proper walk from the far rooms to the pools.

Parents also ask
Is it good value versus the other Lopesan hotels?
Yes, it is usually the most affordable of the big Lopesan resorts in Meloneras while keeping the pools and the location.
Is the resort too spread out for a buggy?
It is large, but paths are flat and buggy-friendly. Ask for a room near the pools to cut the daily distance.
Is there anything for a rainy or windy day?
The spa, indoor lounges and the covered promenade shops help, and the promenade restaurants are a short covered walk.
