Kefaluka sits right on the water near Akyarlar, at the calm western tip of the peninsula, and it is built around one thing families care about: a proper aquapark with real slides plus a supervised mini club. Four outdoor pools, a long sand-and-shingle beach and a big evening entertainment programme mean the kids run out of energy before you do. It is a fair drive from Bodrum town, but once you are in you rarely need to leave.

Our verdict
A dependable aquapark resort for families who want to settle in, let the kids loose on the slides and barely touch the car. Book a family room near the pools.
The rooms
Large rooms and family rooms spread across low blocks in green gardens, most with a balcony and many with sea views. Family rooms and duplex options sleep four to five, so a family of four is not squeezed into one space.
