The Oasis Tropical is the family workhorse of Mojacar Playa, and its trump card is a lagoon-shaped pool that snakes through the gardens with a shallow paddling section for tots and a splash area with slides. It sits at the quieter northern end of the beach, so you swap nightlife for space and a much calmer stretch of sand. Prices are the lowest in our Costa Almeria line-up, which is exactly why families with two or three children keep choosing it.
Our verdict
The budget pick that does not feel like one. If your children are between three and ten and you care more about pool time than about thread count, this is the best value on the coast.
The rooms
Whitewashed low-rise blocks around the gardens, with balconies and enough room types that a family of four fits without paying for a suite. The 2025 refurbishment brought the bathrooms and beds up to date, ask for a renovated room by name.

What is the beach like in front?
Wide and rarely crowded at this end, but the sand is coarse and grey-gold rather than fine and white, and storms can leave pebbly patches. Beach shoes help.
Do we need a car in Mojacar?
For a pure beach week you can manage with the local bus along the strip, but for the pueblo, Cabo de Gata and the desert a car pays for itself in a day.
