The Grand Hyatt is the crowd-pleaser of Nusa Dua: five outdoor pools linked by lazy channels, a long waterslide the kids will not leave, and beautiful gardens that make the huge resort feel like a village. Camp Nusa and the Oceania kids club run supervised activities for ages 4 to 12, and there is a genuine beachfront on the calm, reef-protected Nusa Dua lagoon. It is not the cheapest option, but it is one of the most reliable all-rounders in Bali, the kind of place where you could happily not leave the gates for a week and the children would beg to stay longer.

The rooms
Set in a village of Balinese-style low-rise blocks around tropical gardens, the Grand Hyatt has room types that suit every family shape. Standard rooms take a cot easily, and the connecting rooms and themed family suites are the pick with two or more children: the ocean-themed kids room comes with shell-shaped twin beds and its own mermaid bathroom, joined to a parents' room next door. Ground-floor garden rooms cut out the stairs with a buggy, and the calm lagoon beach is a short stroll through the gardens.
