Tropical island adventure for families
🌺Bali
Indonesia
Actualizado el 1 July 2026
Bali is one of the great family destinations, once you get past the long-haul flight to reach it. The island packs an enormous amount into a small space: calm, reef-protected swimming bays in the south, jungle and rice terraces around Ubud in the cool highlands, temples, monkeys, waterfalls and some of the friendliest people anywhere for children. Family resorts are excellent value compared with the Maldives or the Caribbean, and most come with a kids club, a big pool and family rooms as standard. The two things to plan around are the seasons and the sea: aim for the dry season, and know that the calm family beaches are at Nusa Dua and Sanur in the east, while the famous surf beaches of Kuta, Legian and Seminyak have real rip currents, so young children swim in the pools there. Split a trip between a beach base and a few days in the Ubud jungle and you get the full sweep of Bali with barely any driving stress.

Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay
This is a resort of private villas, not rooms, and that changes everything with children. Each of the 147 Balinese villas has its own walled garden and plunge pool, so bath time, naps and toddler meltdowns all happen behind your own gate. One, two and three-bedroom layouts scale from a couple with a baby to three generations together, and family villas sit steps from the playground and pools. Cots and babysitting are complimentary, children under twelve stay free and under-fives eat free, which softens the sting of the price.

en Bali
The Mulia, Mulia Resort & Villas
Everything here is oversized, and that works in a family's favour. Even entry-level suites run to 130 sqm with a separate living area and space for two adults and two children under twelve, so no one is climbing over a suitcase. Ocean-facing suites put the calm Geger Beach lagoon a lift ride away, and the villas add private pools and multiple bedrooms for larger groups. Cots come free on request, and the sheer size of the rooms makes early bedtimes and toddler naps far less of a battle.

en Bali
Grand Hyatt Bali
Set in a village of Balinese-style low-rise blocks around tropical gardens, the Grand Hyatt has room types that suit every family shape. Standard rooms take a cot easily, and the connecting rooms and themed family suites are the pick with two or more children: the ocean-themed kids room comes with shell-shaped twin beds and its own mermaid bathroom, joined to a parents' room next door. Ground-floor garden rooms cut out the stairs with a buggy, and the calm lagoon beach is a short stroll through the gardens.

en Bali
Padma Resort Legian
Padma Legian is built around families, with a dedicated family block and rooms sized for real trips. The Premier Double Double gives one bedroom two queen beds and a bathtub, ideal for toddlers and young children, while suites step up to two bedrooms and Presidential units add three bedrooms with a private pool. Kids stay free in existing bedding on many rates, cots are provided, and the family rooms sit close to the waterslide pool and the Wolly Kids Club so nap-time dashes are short.

en Bali
Padma Resort Ubud
Clinging to a jungle ridge above the Payangan valley, Padma Ubud has rooms and suites that all look out over rice terraces and rainforest. Deluxe rooms take a cot and sleep a small family, while the 177 sqm Family Suite adds a second bedroom, a living room and a private hot tub, ideal for two children who need their own space. Kids stay free in existing bedding on many rates, and the resort's shuttle handles the winding road down to central Ubud so you do not have to drive it.

Hyatt Regency Bali
Reborn after a full refit, the Hyatt Regency spreads through nine hectares of heritage gardens along Sanur beach, so rooms are low-rise and calm. Standard rooms take a cot comfortably, and the suites and connecting-room combinations suit families who want a door between the children and the grown-ups. Ground-floor garden rooms make buggy life easy, and the location, a short walk from Sanur's flat, pedestrian-friendly beachfront path, means you are not trapped behind resort gates.

The Anvaya Beach Resort Bali
The Anvaya keeps things simple and roomy for families. Premier Family rooms add a sofa bed for the children and thoughtful kid touches, and connecting rooms are available for larger groups who want a door between the generations. Rooms are soundproofed, which is a genuine bonus in busy Kuta, and cots are provided on request. Ground-floor and pool-view rooms keep the buggy on the level, and the beachfront location means the sand and the pools are both a couple of minutes away.

en Bali
Courtyard by Marriott Bali Seminyak Resort
The Courtyard keeps costs down without cramping families. Deluxe and Deluxe Pool View rooms are generously sized with private balconies, and a connecting room is available on request, which is the smart move for parents who want a door to close at bedtime. Rooms take a cot easily and children stay free in existing bedding on many rates. The lagoon pool winds right through the resort, so most rooms are only a short stroll from the water, and the flat, central Seminyak setting is easy with a buggy.

Los padres también preguntan
Is Bali good for a family with young children?
Yes, very. Family resorts are excellent value with kids clubs and big pools, the culture is warm and child-friendly, and the calm bays of Nusa Dua and Sanur are gentle for little swimmers. The main hurdle is the long flight to get there.
Which beaches are safe for children?
Nusa Dua and Sanur on the east coast have reef-protected lagoons that stay calm and shallow, ideal for young children. The west-coast beaches of Kuta, Legian and Seminyak have real surf and rip currents, so young children should swim in the resort pools there.
When is the best time to visit Bali with kids?
The dry season from April to October brings the most reliable sunshine and calmest seas, and lines up with the European summer holidays. The wet season from November to March is warm but sees heavy afternoon downpours and higher humidity.
Should we split our stay between beach and jungle?
It is the classic Bali family trip: a few days by a calm beach at Nusa Dua or Sanur, then a few in the cooler Ubud jungle for rice terraces, temples and monkeys. The drive between them is about an hour, so you see two very different sides of the island with little travel stress.
