Abu Dhabi is the winter-sun destination that pairs reliable warmth with the best theme parks in the region, all on one compact island. Yas Island alone stacks up Yas Waterworld, Warner Bros World, Ferrari World and SeaWorld Abu Dhabi within a free shuttle ride of each other, and most Yas hotels throw in daily park access with the room. When you want the beach instead, the Saadiyat Island resorts sit on a nine-kilometre arc of protected white sand with turtle-nesting shores and huge family pools. The calendar is the one thing to plan around: October to May is glorious and swimmable, while high summer is fierce, so winter is very much the family season.
