A modern, good-value four-star just north of Soma Bay, whose draw for families is a free aqua park of eleven slides with an integrated children's and baby pool, heated through the coldest months. The honest catch is the beach: the sand is fine, but the sea entry is rocky and shallow, so you need beach shoes and a walk, or the pier, to reach swimming depth. This is a pools-and-slides holiday first, with the sea as a snorkel add-on rather than a toddler wading beach.
