Le Meridien has one big advantage for families: it owns almost the whole of Relax Bay, a sheltered private beach that stays calmer than the open coast. Behind it stretch two enormous pools, tennis and squash courts, a climbing wall and a free Penguin kids club for ages four to twelve, with plenty to keep active children busy for a week. It is a big, older-school resort rather than a design hotel, and that is exactly why it works so well with children who just want space to run. The private bay also means fewer worries about crowds or traffic.
