The Kempinski at Baie Lazare has quietly become one of the easiest luxury family bases on Mahe. Its free kids club runs from eight to six for ages 4 to 12, with tortoise feeding and an Adventure Garden, and a dedicated children's pool sits right by it. The beach at Baie Lazare is broad and the resort is compact enough to walk with little legs. It hits a sweet spot between comfort, price and genuine child-friendliness.

Rooms are large and most have a balcony or terrace facing the bay. Families usually take a Garden or Sea View room with an extra bed, or connecting rooms for more space, and the resort sleeps children easily with free cots.
