Constance Ephelia is the Seychelles at full scale: a big, green resort on Mahe wrapped around the Port Launay marine park, with two beaches, five pools and a genuinely good free kids club. It suits families who want everything in one place, from tortoise feeding at four o'clock to kayaking in the mangroves. The setting under forested granite hills is dramatic, and there is enough space that it never feels crowded. It is upscale without tipping into the price of the Praslin ultra-luxe resorts.

Ephelia spreads over 120 hectares with two beaches, so there is a lot of choice for families. The 17 Family Villas have two bedrooms and a private plunge pool, ideal when a toddler needs a dark room for naps, while Junior and Senior Suites handle a family of three or four. Cots are free on request and connecting options are easy to arrange. A shuttle buggy runs around the grounds, which helps because the estate is large.
