How is this different from Costa Navarino?
It is more of a classic beachfront family resort at a friendlier price, about 45 minutes east in Kalamata. You lose the huge Aqua Park but gain great value, a superb baby service and free kids' dining.
Is the beach sandy?
Kalamata's long beach is a mix of sand and small pebbles rather than soft dune sand, so water shoes are handy for little feet. The pools pick up the slack for the youngest paddlers.
